    Wow!!

First off, I was very impressed with the components and workmanship of the rod. I build fly rods myself and appreciate the details in the wraps, the reel seat, the grips and the quality of the guides. Not to mention the beautiful blank and choice of thread material. Just took the rod out today in howling wind chasing stripers, blues and albies. The rod loads nicely, has a nice fast taper but doesn't feel like a 2x4 and is able to punch big flies directly into the wind. I have fished a lot of Sage, Orvis, Powell and Winston rods and this rod casts as nicely as any of the others. What I thought initially might be a "back-up" 10wt has moved toward the front of the queue!! Thank you Moonshine!! I was so impressed I just picked up a 9wt!!

    Great Bass Rod

I wanted to wait to write a review. I have now fished this rod for two seasons and I am thoroughly happy with the 7wt.

I fish freshwater lakes in SC from kayak, and was fairly new to casting full sink lines. I was looking for a slightly faster action than my other rod, but still have enough of a moderate speed/tempo for me to handle a little different casting technique for really bulky game changers

This rod fit the bill perfectly, without me needing to move up in weight. Small stripers, some nice smallies and large mouth, even a surprise 38" gar! not a problem.

If your looking for a good all around bass rod for a reasonable price, you will like the 7wt.

    Beautiful action and high quality

Received my Outcast as a gift. Love the two tips for when I need a snappier delivery into wind or a soft presentation in smooth water.

This is the best quality rod I've ever owned and pairs wonderfully with a Sage Spectrum C reel. I like the easy one-hand reel nut, and the 2nd nut to lock it all together. The alignment dots are subtle (so we all look good setting up :P ) The hard case and 4 piece break-down means it can live under the seat of my truck for unexpected perfect days.

Decent rod but nothing crazy. The action is nice and the blank is pretty light but the components aren’t the best. The lower guides on my rod seem to be very weak and seem to bend very easily. I think for the price there are better options than this rod.

Hi James, thanks for your business. It's normal for the guides to have some flex in there and are high quality, including Titanium frame SiC stripping guides. If you have any questions or concerns, whatsoever, please email us info@moonshinerods.com and we'll take care of you. Thanks!
